An introduction to the sustainability issues addressed by these two projects will be provided by John Reid of the Scottish Construction Centre.
Enkelt Simple Living, Pol Stewart
Enkelt Simple Living is Ballyconnelly's Scandinavian inspired design to produce a contemporary home of the highest level of energy efficiency. A pilot project of four semi-detached three bedroom family homes has already been delivered in Dunoon, Scotland to provide Ballyconnelly with proof of concept and quantifiable costs.
The Hydrogen Office, Derek Mitchell
The Hydrogen Office is being developed to demonstrate the role that renewable, hydrogen and fuel cell technology can play in challenging concerns relating to climate change, security of energy supply, and energy inflation. The building is being developed in Methil (Fife) as the centrepiece to the Fife Energy Park. The focus of this cutting edge technology project is to raise the profile, improve understanding, and promote the benefits and opportunities of a range of technologies that are likely to be central to our future energy supply chain.
