Longannet Power Station - Carbon Capture Site Visit
A networking lunch, followed by a presentation on environmental management at Longannet Power Station by Alan Dickson - the clean coal integration manager. This will cover their interaction with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, an overview of the PPC permit and an overview of the 4 major environmental projects that are currently underway at Longannet for emissions reduction (Boosted Overfire Air (BOFA), Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) & Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS).
A tour of the FGD and Carbon Capture projects will then be undertaken.
Delegates will need to wear full PPE. Longannet can provide but will need to know details in advance. Delegates to note if they need safety hat, glasses, safety boots, overalls high viz jackets and what sizes.
Delegates to provide details of car registration numbers in advance for security.
